Avas App and Maldives Zakat House Partner to Simplify Fitr Zakat Payments
Jan 8, 2026
Avas Enterprises Private Limited has entered a partnership with Maldives Zakat House to transform how Fitr Zakat is paid during this Ramadan. The newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to make contributions simpler, convenient, and widely accessible to the public across the Maldives.
The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, where Avas Enterprises Managing Director Mohamed Yaniu Rameez and Zakat House Fund Manager Abdullah Ali formalised the collaboration. Under this agreement, individuals will be able to pay their Fitr Zakat through Avas’ digital platforms, integrating modern technology with traditional charitable giving.
Starting this Ramadan, the service will be operational on Avas’ online channels, enabling users to complete their Zakat payments efficiently without visiting physical collection points. Importantly, no additional charges will be applied to contributors, and Avas will waive transfer fees when remitting collected funds to Maldives Zakat House. This ensures that the full amount donated reaches those in need.
The initiative supports ongoing efforts to digitise charity services and enhance transparency, speed, and ease of use for the public. By combining trusted digital tools with a core religious obligation, the partnership strives to broaden participation and strengthen community support during the holy month of Ramadan.
