Taxi Center Operator (Dispatch Operator)

Job Description:

The Dispatch Operator at the Taxi Center is responsible for managing customer ride requests and coordinating vehicle dispatch. This role involves receiving ride requests, assigning available taxis, monitoring vehicle movements, and ensuring prompt service delivery. The Dispatch Operator must maintain clear communication with drivers, provide real-time updates, and ensure smooth operations during late hours to enhance customer satisfaction.

Note: This role requires availability for night and midnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

Receive and log customer ride requests via phone, app, or other communication channels.

• Assign available taxis to pickup locations based on availability and proximity.

• Monitor vehicle movements and trip status using internal dispatch portals.

• Maintain real-time communication with drivers to provide updates, directions, and instructions.

• Ensure timely pickups and efficient route planning to optimize service quality.

• Handle customer inquiries, complaints, or ride-related issues professionally and promptly.

• Coordinate with drivers to manage peak hours, delays, and unexpected situations.

• Keep accurate records of dispatch activities, ride logs, and driver availability.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and local transport regulations.

• Support ongoing operational improvements to enhance efficiency and service reliability.

About the Job:

• Position: Taxi Center Operator (Dispatch Operator)

• Number of Vacancies: 1

• Salary: MVR 7,000 to 9,500

• Work Hours: 48 hours Per Week (weekly 1 Off Day)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Previous experience in taxi dispatch, transportation services, or call center operations is preferred.

• Strong multitasking skills to manage multiple ride requests efficiently.

• Excellent verbal communication and coordination skills in both Dhivehi and English.

• Proficiency in using basic computer applications and dispatch software.

• Ability to work under pressure and make quick, sound decisions in fast-paced situations.

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Willingness to work night and midnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays.

• Familiarity with the local geography, roads, and service areas is a distinct advantage.
